Samsung has verified that its yearly “Galaxy Unpacked” event is scheduled for January 22. During the event, the company is expected to introduce three new smartphones: Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. Ahead of the launch in a few weeks, a leak suggests that the Ultra version may be slimmer, lighter, and feature an improved wireless charging system.

Images of the wireless charging cases for the Galaxy S25 series were recently leaked, showing a magnetic ring similar to Apple’s MagSafe. It appears that the technology being used is Qi2.
The devices were supposed to have a 15-watt power capacity, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to feature a 25-watt wireless charging capability, as per leaker Roland Quandt.
It is not yet known if the increased power requirement is because of using a newer Qi2 standard or if Samsung has enhanced something that necessitates a specific charger.
