Samsung is preparing to release the highly anticipated Galaxy S25 series, expected to offer significant improvements in performance, design, and camera technology. The new lineup, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, is set to be unveiled at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, 2025, with a global release expected by the end of the same month.
Evan Blass, a renowned leaker, shared an image revealing the release date through a teaser featuring the word “Unpacked,” a familiar term for Samsung’s smartphone launch event.

Updated appearance and fresh color choices
The Galaxy S25 series will feature subtle yet noticeable visual updates. The regular and Plus versions will have wider and darker borders around the rear cameras, made of Armor Aluminum, while the Ultra model will retain its high-end titanium build.
The colors are also a standout feature.
- Galaxy S25 is available in Moon Night Blue, Silver Shadow, Sparkling Blue, and Sparkling Green colors.
- The Galaxy S25+ Midnight Black is available, along with the usual colors of the regular model.
Samsung should provide exclusive color options such as Coral Red and Pink Gold for customers purchasing from their official website.
Screen and performance art
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ versions will feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The Ultra variant is anticipated to have a larger 6.9-inch screen with improved OLED M14 panels capable of exceeding 2,600 nits of maximum brightness.
All versions will come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering a clock speed of 4.47 GHz for better performance and improved energy efficiency. Memory configurations have been upgraded, with the Galaxy S25 featuring 12 GB of RAM and the Ultra model having 16 GB, along with storage capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB.
Cameras: specific enhancements
The Galaxy S25 and S25+ will retain the cameras from the Galaxy S24, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have notable improvements.
- Main camera with 200 megapixels.
- 50 MP ultrawide camera.
- Telephoto lens with 3x and 5x optical zoom capabilities.
The front camera, found in all models, is expected to be 12 MP and feature enhanced image processing.
Battery and OS
Devices will come equipped with 5,000 mAh batteries and will offer fast charging capabilities of up to 45W for the Ultra and Plus models, and 25W for the basic S25 model. They will be pre-installed with Android 15 and the new One UI 7.0 interface, which is designed to enhance the user experience and provide advanced AI features.
