iOS 18.5 users who have installed the update are reporting issues with overheating and device locking.

Not all issues were resolved before the launch of iOS 18.5, as some iPhone users have reported problems such as screen sensitivity issues, frequent crashes, and overheating after updating.

iOS 18.5 has bugs in its features.

A bug in iOS 18.5 is leading to touch response issues at specific times, as reported by PhoneArena. Journalist Alan Friedman mentioned instances on his iPhone 15 Pro Max where the device fails to register touch input in certain areas of the screen.

Another user who also has the same model mentioned that they did not observe any battery life alterations with iOS 18.5. However, they noted instances where the screen is unresponsive to touch, which happens across various applications.

Some individuals have reported that their iPhones started to overheat and experience decreased battery life, as well as missing icons on the home screen and decreased performance following the update. Conversely, there are also individuals who have noticed enhanced battery performance after the upgrade.

Apple may release iOS 18.5.1 to address various issues, such as the bug impacting touch response, prior to the launch of the highly awaited iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 in June.
