Qualcomm typically unveils its latest Snapdragon chips in the final quarter of each year, but for 2025, the company has opted to alter this timeline. This adjustment means that the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to occur earlier. At a Computex conference, Qualcomm announced that the upcoming “Snapdragon Summit” is set to take place on September 23-25.
Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is set to be unveiled by the end of September.
Qualcomm unveils its latest powerful chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, at the annual “Snapdragon Summit” event. The new generation is expected to bring significant improvements in energy performance and efficiency, intensifying competition with Samsung and MediaTek.
The first Chinese smartphones featuring the new chip are anticipated to be unveiled shortly after the event in late September, possibly between late September and early October. Global releases may also be possible by 2025 or early 2026 due to the timing of the event.

Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, and realme are set to compete for the top spot in being the first to release a device with the latest Qualcomm chip. Xiaomi may have an advantage with the Xiaomi 16.
Samsung may face a challenging situation due to the upcoming release of the new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 foldable phones, as they could be equipped with a chip that is considered outdated compared to competitors launching models with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip later.
